Here is a link to it, I would appreciate feedback, but I can not take credit for all of the work. To restore to factory, you can hook up and run the reboot to recovery option, and just factory reset the fire, or do it through the Fire OS settings menu.

It will not be able to remove the amazon apps from a tablet that is above 5.4.0.0, however other functions should work fine.Īny configuration changes that this makes are not permanent, and will not brick your device. Your tablet should be on Fire OS 5.4.0.0 to enable ALL the features of this script, however, you can use it with other OS versions or even other android tablets. Lannouncer lets you use the tablet as an endpoint in smartthings for announcements. Next it installs Fully Kiosk browser so you can set actiontiles as the home screen. It installs nova launcher, to replace the firelauncher, and loads launcher hijacker so you can use it. The script removes all of the amazon apps, and loads google play, and other google services. It takes about 5-7 minutes a tablet to run the script, but its removing and adding a lot of stuff! I wanted to get the software side working first, and after a little research I found some scripts that I combined to make an almost “one touch” option for for clearing the bloat off of the tablets, and setting it up for use with action tiles and LANnouncer. (9 of them) and I wanted to use them all for actiontiles around the house. This seems to be blocke by Amazon.īut anyway, creating an apk file instead of or executing the shortcut would be the optimal solution.Hello there everyone, I just bought a ton of fire tablets on sale. But it is not possible to set another launcher as default launcher.

I can install and run it and on the Nove home screen the shortcut is displayes and works. I even tried to replace the Amazon launcher with an alternative launcher (Nova launcher). I tried everything I could think of but was not successful. Or as a workaround: Would it be possible to create a (dummy) trigger apk file which simply "executes" a shortcut created with Automagic? Is there a way in Automagic to create an apk file instead of a shortcut? It seems that only installed programs (apk files) are displayed on the home screen. Neither the created shortcut nor a widget appear on the Fire's home screen. I read that the Fire does not support widgets but it seems that it does also not support shortcuts. This works well on my phone but does not work on the Amazon Fire tablet. I found that this can be done by creating a shortcut (or alternatively a widget). I created my first flow with Automagic (which is amazing) which I want to execute by clicking on an icon on the homescreen.
